  •  The EvO:R-Pedia Musicians Tips Section

Welcome to the EvO:R Tips Section. We call this section EvO:R-Pedia because it is like a complete reference library for Indie musicians...Just about every tip has been used so you won't find false promises and a series of books to buy after reading each tip. This section was put here by musicians so that people that followed can take this knowledge and use it's power.

Bands Need to Work Together, Not Compete Against Each Other
    by Tim Sweeney - http://www.musicstrategies.com

Songwriting contests, battle of the bands, radio station song challenges are all designed to promote competition between music artists. Instead of artists competing against one another, imagine if they worked together. I mean actually working together to promote each otherís shows and music. How many more CDs and downloads would you sell if the music artists in your home city and state helped you promote your music?

This is the foundation of what I teach at Music Strategies (www.musicstrategies.com). Why compete against another music artist when you can sell thousands of CDs together? When artists work together they become more effective than any radio promoter or publicist they can hire. They begin to promote themselves based upon what is important to them and what the messages are in their songs.

Two examples from the last Music Strategies are Kristin Korb and Jannel Rap. Kristin has already sold her first 1,000 CDs in only 2 months by learning how to build a different relationship with her fans and with working with other artists she met at the last seminar. Jannel was able to organize 200 independent music artists in the United States and in other countries that played shows to raise awareness for people who were missing. In 2 weeks, these performances and the attention they received from the media by working together lead to 10 people actually being found. 10 people who the police and FBI could not previously find.

By artists working together instead of competing against one another you can get more people to your shows, sell more CDs and downloads and more importantly, you can change people and the cities you live in.

To find out how you can trade a handful of the CDs sitting in your living room to learn how to really impact and change people with your music, please review www.musicstrategies.com and call me directly at (951) 303-9506 with any questions.

A Message from the founder of EvO:R
The Independent Music world has become so fragmented that anyone entering into this arena will be lost without having a chance of survival. What every independent musicians needs is information, understanding and a path that leads to success. Sure, you can buy a few books from authors that never played a note or loaded a single amp into a moving van. Pipe dreams are all over the Internet.

At EvO:R we pride ourselves with sections dedicated to Independent Music News called (The EvO:R Street Journal), Musicians Success Stories and Tips called (EvO:R-pedia) and a Musicians Testimonial Section called (The Goods) dedicated to Internet based companies that deliver on their promises.

All this news and information and we don't charge a single penny. We also respect your online privacy by refusing to track your browsing habits while on our website. We simply want to deliver the BEST news, information and success stories for the Independent Musician.

Thank-you for visiting EvO:R and tell the world that we are out here..
