The EvO:R The Goods Section
Welcome to the EvO:R-The Goods Section.
Many websites have been put up to warn people about scams
and services that do not live up to expectations. As a result we have
had a huge void in websites that list services that reach or exceed our expectations.
Every March I sent out emails to thousands of people requesting that if they had a great
experience with any company, service, or website involved in the music business to please send me
that information. Well, it seems as if it is much harder to get people to respond and share a
good experience then a bad one so we will slowly build each of our sections based on the results of the March 2004
emails and we will continue to add more and more topics and compliments as we move forward.
EvO:R does not take responsibility for any site or service in this section. We are simply providing
websites and services that have exceeded expectation in the past.

Just Plain Folks - (Brian Austin Whitney) There's SO much to say about Just
Plain folks that I'll let their website do the talking. :-)

Performing Artists Network (PAN) - Established in 1981, The PAN Network is the
oldest and largest online MUSIC network serving professionals in ALL aspects of the music
business.
Whether you are a session player or producer, songwriter or studio owner, performer or
booking agent, publisher or record label, PAN is your online resource for music industry
networking and real-world services for your business and career needs.

TAXI! - An independent A&R company. They're great at getting songwriters
placement in films and TV shows, and getting your songs heard by people in the industry
who wouldn't hear them otherwise.
They've gotten record deals and publishing deals for their clients, though don't go
EXPECTING that, because not everyone can. At VERY least, they give good critique for
your new songs, and are a good place to make a bunch of new connections and just keep
pounding the pavement. Their annual ROAD RALLY conference in L.A. is one of the best
conferences I've ever been to and it's FREE to members. (That alone is worth the
membership fee!)

Indiegrrl - A forum for information, networking and conversation about
independent music from a female perspective. Started as an email list. Turned into
a movement. Highly recommended.
website: indiegrrl.com
West Coast Songwriters Association (WCSA) - The most active songwriters association in the USA, with more than 15 events a month.
Once a year, they gather at a beautiful outdoor college campus for two whole days of
focusing on the craft of songwriting. I've been there for the last two years and love
it. Hands-on critiques and songwriting workshops.

Sonicbids - SonicBids is a good service run by good people. If you sign up with
their online service, they walk you through the creation of an electronic press kit, a
simple easy-to-use presentation package about your act. (Bio, photos, music, dates, etc.)
Then they can automatically submit this to music conferences on your behalf, for you to
apply for showcases. Panos Panay is the founder and very committed to helping independent
musicians get their music out to the world.

StarPolish - StarPolish helps to educate and develop musician's careers.
They have the BEST advice library of articles. Membership gives you more exposure on
their site.
