Welcome to EvO:R Entertainment |
The EvO:R The Goods Section
Welcome to the EvO:R-The Goods Section.
Many websites have been put up to warn people about scams
and services that do not live up to expectations. As a result we have
had a huge void in websites that list services that reach or exceed our expectations.
In March of 2004 I sent out emails to thousands of people requesting that if they had a great
experience with any company, service, or website involved in the music business to please send me
that information. Well, it seems as if it is much harder to get people to respond and share a
good experience then a bad one so we will slowly build each of our sections based on the results of the March 2004
emails and we will continue to add more and more topics and compliments as we move forward.
This is NOT a Glorified Links Section!
The listings in this section came from people that emailed us about a wonderful experience they had
while working with the companies and services within the music business..If all you want are links
visit our Ultimate Links Pages with over
6,000 bands, and 5,000 individual companies and services..
If you have had a good experience with any business or service that relates to music, please
email us today and we will post your reply within 10 days...

websites and services that have exceeded expectation in the past.

Sheheshe Music Services - has offered free radio station promotions and
special discount offers to promote to radio stations. All as transpired
with excellent efficiency, excellent reporting, and excellent results.
Sheheshe Music Services
has my recommendaton.
MusicDish Network - "After the personal phone conversation with Holly Day, I knew that I was on my way to
having a successful story. The communication with
Artist Express leaders couldn't
have been any better. If you are a singer, songwriter, manager or song promoter this
will be the best investment into the music business with results better that what you
could ever do. To view what they did for me please go to Crissy Cummings
The Syndicate - I can't say enough great things about The Syndicate.
They worked my Hit Me CD to college radio a few years ago and did a wonderful job.
They're great people & well-loved in college radio circles. They're pretty advanced,
and work mainly with artists and labels that are completely ready, with all the
puzzle-pieces in place, ready for a serious radio campaign to compliment their
marketing plan.

LaPolt Law - Dina was a professional musician for years, and it shows.
She's one of the most helpful people I've met, with a real specialty in helping artists
with deals. She knows everyone in the industry, and puts herself out there at every music
conference to help musicians as much as she can.
Davis Dixon Kirby LLP- contact: Anthony Davis. Representing several top
snowboarders as well as multi-platinum act the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Anthony Davis
and his firm, Davis Dixon Kirby LLP, have become known for being one of the top
Intellectual Property, Media and Technology, and Entertainment/Sports law firms on
the West Coast.
Suzette Becker - I can't rave enough about Suzette Becker. After conferences
and conversations with her I am SO impressed with her sharp attention for details, but
broad overview of a situation. (Meaning: she knows how to drop the lawyer-talk, and look
at a situation for what it is.) She's a tireless networker at every music conference,
and a great person to have on your side, even if you never go to New Orleans.

MusicDish Network - As an editor and webmaster of a small independent website, I have been depending
on volunteer writers to help provide me with a steady stream of content for my
monthly e-zine. The word 'volunteer' says it all. Some months I am turning down
articles and other months I am starving for any real content. Almost every month
I was spending the first half of the month trying to get articles from my volunteer
providers and as a result many articles arrived on the final days before my deadline.
I don't have to explain to you what a "rush" job looks like, and that was what I was
dealing with until I teamed up with the
MusicDish Network.
CMJ Network -
If I want to know what is hot in the college market, or read about the new sounds of tomorrow today,
I read CMJ. They've got two cool publications:
CMJ's New Music Monthly (consumer based music publication)
and New Music Report (weekly industry magazine with college radio charts, news, etc.)
Since 1978, CMJ's mission has been to help lead the music industry's constant evolution and positively
influence the economy and culture of music.

TAXI - An independent A&R company Taxi is great at
getting songwriters placement in films and TV shows, and getting your songs heard by people in the industry who
wouldn't hear them otherwise. They've gotten record deals and publishing deals for their clients,
though don't go EXPECTING that, because not everyone can.
Indiegrrl - A forum for information, networking and conversation about independent music from
a female perspective. Started as an email list. Turned into a movement.
Indie Girl comes highly recommended.
Just Plain Folks - There's SO much to say about
Just Plain folks that I'll let their website do the talking. :-)
Sonicbids - is a good service run by good people. If you sign up with their online service,
they walk you through the creation of an electronic press kit, a simple easy-to-use presentation package
about your act. (Bio, photos, music, dates, etc.) Then they can automatically submit this to music conferences
on your behalf, for you to apply for showcases.

CD Baby - We were so glad you asked us to send more cd's to
CD BABY. We did sell 21 copies just last month. Seems ZZ is well liked in Japan and
California. We were ignoring the request for more when you strongly
suggested we send them. Of course we're glad we did.
Thank you AGAIN Charlie.
Guitar9.com - As a guitarist, I'm glad I have the opportunity to have distribution
through Guitar 9. Dan MacAvinchey is another one who followed up with a request I had,
promptly. Actions like this tell me that these people care about what they're doing.
If more people really cared, this world would be a great place.
Peacework Music Network - This distribution outlet supports over 500 artists from around the world.
Bands are listed in PWMN's easy to navigate genre
section with audio samples available for every song. You can market full CD's and even EP's via their
distribution system. All this without having to constantly send them new inventory
as they sell on demand..Jef Peace runs the show and he always followed up with all my questions in
a very timely manner.

Paris Texas, and Nirvana!! And tons of cool indie bands you've never heard of.
Smart Studios is open to the
public. They'll work with ANY budget and get you in - should you want to record
there. Any why wouldn't you want to? Smart Studios in Madison, WI. Wow! That's all I can say.

Free Webs.com - is where we parked our
site and we have had great luck with them. It only costs $42 for a whole year of service,
this price does not include the site name registration cost. Price includes,
unlimited pages, unlimited text, unlimited photos, and much much more.
This is a real value for the struggling band or musician who wants to put
together a decent website without putting out a lot of cash, plus you don't need
to have HTML skills to use it, so it's very musician friendly.

Radio Promotions and Stations Suggestions
KMA Entertainment - James Lowe produces shows that feature ONLY those
artists that have CD's for sale through his outlet. By playing ONLY those artists
KUBC Radiot can now say the show is
simply a promotional stream that is available to all potential buyers! The whole
idea has been embrassed by the EvO:R organization and many of their
artists have seen great CD sales through this new format..
Kweevak - Many thanks for the review of UPROOTED and supporting independents.
Your site is tops! P.S. I notice you’ve got fellow aussie Geoff Achison on your site
also. Cool!! Thanks for supporting aussie independents also.

Derek Sivers - though I've never had the opportunity to speak with him on the phone,
when I did have a specific question for him. He made it a point to answer me as soon
as possible. That is basic customer service which is hard to find these days. I have
had a good experience at CD Baby on both ends.(buying and selling)
Charlie Harrelson - Now here's a guy who's already two up on me and he won't let me
do anything for him. Or maybe he's so busy thinking about everyone else he forgets
to do things for himself. Not to mention, I would love to sit down and jam with
him sometime. Evor is excellent!!
Eric de Fonteney - I've been in contact with Eric for a few months now and
also had a pleasant convo with him a few weeks ago. So far so good.
Music Dish Network is a great idea. I hope to see it continue to grow.

Oasis CD - I would like to recommend OASIS CD & MFG.
in Sperryville, VA.
They offer great prices, a tools-of-promotion package that is second to none
& they have very cooperative staff to help us little people get our music out.
That's my first choice. Brian Priest...
Groove House - I first heard about
Groove House from some of the projects they've done: Fisher, Jackson Browne,
Buck-O-Nine, and the Mighty Mighty BossTones. Those records sounded great on my stereo,
and everyone else that has used them and I've talked to agrees... each job is given
the time and care it needs to make sure it looks and sounds great.
Springbound Music - A great short-run duplication company I use is
Springbound Music. Brian
White is the guy that runs it. Great guy, easy to work with. He's got good, quality
product, decent prices and is in business because he loves the music.

Evolution Promotion - Artist development strategies using their
years of experience at the major labels.
Evolution Promotion's services include Radio Promotion, Tour
Promotion, Online Marketing, Virtual Listening Parties, Web Design, Distribution
and Consulting. I think they just moved from LA to the Boston area.
Foley Entertainment, Inc. - Gene Foley, head of
Foley Entertainment Inc., comes with years of experience
in career consulting, including major label experience, as well as clients that have gone on to earn gold and platinum
records, and a few Grammys. He is offering a free CD evaluation to help you better understand your target market,
and thus market your CD accordingly.
Baker/Northrop Media Group - Sheryl Northrop, Cary Baker, and their small office
of experts are real
top-of-the-line pros. They came recommended from a few different sources, and
when I met with them, they seem like great people that are really into what they're doing.

MP3Trim - I have had great service from the makers of
mp3Trim.
A small, free and sweet little program to clean mp3's. When they first came
out I requested a lot of info and they responded with a lot of personal care..
I have not had a chance to talk to the mp3Trim people for some time so don't
know if they are still so personable. I do know that now they offer PRO versions
and they now have WavTrim. In the past, they were great to deal with.
Rick Andrews Guitars -man, have you ever owned a custom made guitar?
If you have been living off the rack you simply can not imagine what you are missing.
If you are looking for a quality custom guitar builder let me suggest
Rick Andrews Guitars.
Hollywood Pro Audio.com - A ray of light in the dismal corporate world ...

has at least one customer that appreciates his dedication to ethical
business practices...Jef Peace- Peacework Music

Funender - I have a page there. And the users tend to be very positive and
upbeat. Isometimes wonder if they are a cult... but can't find the evidence of it. You
can have a free page there that will generally fit three tunes. Or you
can go premium and get more exposure, disk space, etc. The owner of the site
is very approachable. The forums there are great for networking with other
musicians.
RideOnMusic - The president is a guy called Alan Horvath whom I first met at mp3.com as an artist. So it's
a new website model, built for artists by artists. They are currently planning a big public
relaunch but I've been with them a couple of months and reasonably well established as a charting artist. I think this is a great little set-up
with a lot of potential.
