I wanted to let you know a little about our review teams collective thoughts on music. It's important to let the people we review know what we think of their music and how we listened to their creations.

A lush tapestry of soundscapes, poetic lyrics, and haunting melodies are artfully interwoven in this follow-up to 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘The Monster’s Kiss’ mini-LP. ‘Chaos & Blue’ is an emotional collection of songs about letting go.

This is the latest EP from Tim-Ryan O’Kane. The most obvious potential audience would be to fans of Alice In Chains, Silverchair and Stone Temple Pilots. This shares a lot of sonic territory with those bands. That said, there are other things here, too. While that modern alternative rock/grunge sound can be heard here, there are lots of classic rock sounds in place, too. “Beautiful Birds” is a mellow track that opens the set in style. It’s kind of dreamy piece. When “Marmalade” powers out, it rocks out more than the opener did. That grunge sound is all over it, but there are also hints of things like Tool. “The Sum of It All” feels rather psychedelic, but still fits with the sounds of the previous two tracks. While the closer, “All Things Change” feels the most modern of all, and the most directly tied to bands like Alice In Chains, it still has some retro rock built into it.

This album shows off O’Kane’s ability to create timeless music. This stuff rocks out, but still manages an accessible groove. It’s sure to be a hit because it’s just a strong set of songs overall. This is definitely one I’ll be recommending to people.

    Songs available on CD Baby:
/   Beautiful Bird   /  Marmalade   /  The Sum of It All   /  All Things Change   /

All 10 tracks will genuinely rock your world, shake the tree and lift your spirits unlike most music you hear on the radio these days.
