About the Artist: This is Smalltime’s latest self-titled EP (2011) a 4 piece band that hails
from Huntington Beach, California. Danny Van and company not only bring some powerful chops,
but being a Christian Rock Band they also have a very meaningful and powerful message..
The opening track "
You Never Know” set the stage perfectly for this EP. It was a great intro piece that stuck in my head
and had me eager for what lied ahead. All in all the whole CD (presented like a musical theme) is brilliantly
delivered with a “been the done that” conviction to it.
The music hits hard but has a warm musical texture
via a rocked out sound. Headed up by singer-musician–mastermind Danny Van. His voice compliments
this style of music well. Musical overtones remind me of Van Halen, Aerosmith, Greg Khin Band and
even AC/DC. There are some fantastic pieces on this CD which gives this musical production a very
accessible feel emotionally. The overall guitar playing style is brilliant and I would describe
the lyrical content as speaking straight from the heart.
Smalltime clearly has all the qualities needed to gravitate a fan base down in Southern California
and beyond. I can see Smalltime becoming very popular within the Christian Music Community, but
there music is also likeable and accessible to secular fans. That’s what makes them so marketable.
I’m going to go on record and say Smalltime is a ”
Sheep in Wolves Clothing.”
Favorite piece on the CD is a toss up between “
Out of Touch” and “Bleed it Out”.”

Conclusion:
If there was a word I would use to describe Smalltime it would genuine.
This CD will simply make your day more delightful, but beware Smalltime packs a powerful punch and has
the potential to reach a huge fan-base. Smalltime is a musical experience you will return to again and
again. At the end of the ride you will find yourself inspired, invigorated and in a more passionate mood
than you were 30 minutes ago. **WARNING** This band could change your life.
I assume the Full Length CD is not available yet – could not find anything on it via the World Wide Web.
