Welcome to the EvO:R Independent CD Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to everyone.
The EvO:R review section features reviews from various independent musicians that submit material for our consideration.
I wanted to let you know a little about our review teams collective thoughts on music.
It's important to let the people we review know what we think of their music and how we listened to their creations.
We hold nothing back! The team has been instructed to be honest and respectful of all CD's reviewed.

The Lions

This is Flowerglass’ latest and debut release “The Lions” released in 2012. Both hail from different parts of the country and met by chance. I get the impression venturing to their REVERNATION page they are both soul searchers who found each other quite by chance. Indeed some of the best things in life can happen spontaneously. These 2 are also gifted. Gifted in the sense that they have quite allot to offer with respect to songwriting, playing and their overall ability to connect with fans though who they are – a couple in love.
Flowerglass has done an amazing job carving out a unique niche for themselves within their amazing songwriting craft and a sincere/honest approach. Right from the start his emotional impact and world class playing/songwriting cannot be called into question. The opening track: “Summer Wind Descendent” is an amazing prelude of sorts that will gently lead you by the hand down a timeless musical journey that I would describe as emotionally invigorating and engaging. The whole CD is wonderfully simple yet wonderfully complex at the same time. It reminds me a little of classic Woodie Gutherie, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan and even Fleet Foxes. There are some fantastic moments on display here which gives this CD a very accessible feel emotionally. What I like most - this CD does not attempt to try to hide the truth - rather tell it with bold honesty. This CD also has deep musical depth and incorporates musical elements typical of Classic Folk, Pop, and Indie Rock. Favorite song is “Ut takes a Dream to Kill a Dream” I had this track on repeat mode in the car after a bad day at work – no joke, true story folks!
Flowerglass is brilliant! Brilliant not just the way they represent “Music Meets Passion” but in his amazing musical personality and playing style as well.
