The album 'Road To Somewhere' was written during an intensely trying and tumultuous time in Darko's life and whenever Darko performs these songs, a flood of emotions and nostalgic feeling rush through him as he relives those days over again. These intense emotions are apparent in Darko's performance in the album "Road To Somewhere', as Darko's vocal is performed with great intensity and passion.

I don't think I have ever listened to a singer with the vocal dexterity to sing ballads like John Francis Bongiovi, Jr. (Bon Jovi), love songs like Dennis DeYoung (Styx) and rock like James LaBrie (Dream Theater). All this in one package from singer Darko.

The CD starts off with a Bon Jovi style rocker 'Holding Onto Love' and quickly moves to a Dennis DeYoung inspired song 'One Little Room.' The momentum never dies down as Darko weaves in and out of rock classic and soft rock ballads. I'm a big fan of an albums pace. This CD is paced perfectly as it moves the audience from rockers to ballads and back again. The title song 'Road to Somewhere' is clearly the featured song and rightfully so. Darko pulls out all the stops in the emotionally drenched ballad which will leave you singing the song for days. Watch the video of this release on YouTube Darko Videos- Road to Somewhere

Many of the songs are Christian based offerings which would tend to categorize this CD into some religious genre but Darko's love for his God almighty is not forced on the listeners. He is very tactful with his lyrics and should get rave reviews from the Christian community while garnering favorable votes from the pagan mainstream.

You simply can not deny someone with a voice like this no matter what his religious beliefs are. The music is first class and the vocals are so amazing that I hated to have to remove the CD from my player to review other artists. This is a first class offering from one of the worlds best vocalists.

    In the Studio:
The recording was another example of what a first class team can do. Most of the Mixing and Mastering was done by Darko so it looks like he is as good in front of the console as he is in front of the microphone. The vocals are crisp and well defined. The instruments are will positioned in the sound stage with plenty of depth for every instrument to articulate every nuance. I have listened to this CD about 20 times and every time I hear something new. Up and coming engineers should own this CD so they can study the art of instrument placement. My only complaint was that the lead guitar parts did not sound natural. Maybe just a Strat plugged directly into the mixer so effects could be added after the recording could have been the correct route but this is just me being picky.
    The Music:
/ Holding onto Love  / One Little Room  / We Used to Be  / Road to Somewhere  / Feel  / When Love Is All There Is  / Give In  / She's Just a Friend  / I Hear Your Voice  / Daddy Hates Me  / Jeckyl & Hyde  / Forever Long  / If I Could Fly /

    Conclussion
If you like good Christian Rock then this is a must have CD. If you want to study a singer at the top of his class this is the CD to get. Darko's voice is one of the finist I have heard during my 35 years of being involved with music and the music business. This is no one trick pony, he has the chops and the range to cover almost any vocal style plus he has the writing skills to create music that gives you goose bumps. This CD should be on anyones must have list!

This CD will be awarded a spot in the 2013 Top 25 Indie CD's. Look for that page in Early January 2014.
