  •  The Independent Musicians CD Reviews

Welcome to the EvO:R Independent CD Reviews Section.
I would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to everyone. The EvO:R review section features reviews from various independent musicians that submit material for our consideration.

I wanted to let you know a little about our review teams collective thoughts on music. It's important to let the people we review know what we think of their music and how we listened to their creations.

We hold nothing back! The team has been instructed to be honest and respectful of all CD's reviewed.

Chadwick Station is a 5 member unit based out of the UK now based in Nashville, TENN.

“Waiting for a Sunny Day” is their latest release and the result though far from a self-indulgent ego trip, rather a Sing, Songy, Hooky elegiac artistic statement from start to finish. This is not your overly predictable Ramon Noodle Pop Rock band, no Chadwick Station goes much deeper than that. In fact What Would Iggy Do could even be classed as a 4 genera artist: Alternative Rock, Pop, vintage Punk-Pop and even Classic Rock.

Chadwick Station has way too much precision and clarity to live in the shadows of overly-predictable Pop Rock. Indeed this is clearly evident in songs like “High and Low” and the title track which methodically ups the ante to a very respectable level of catchy musical expression and craftsmanship that transcends typical pigeonholing.

The music is also commercially viable with a fresh sound and an entertaining vocal vibe that makes a real connection with the listener. All pieces within this album hold the attentions span of the listener perfectly. In a nutshell this is The Beatles meets Franz Ferdinand. The 5 song line-up is short and sweet but appeals to many listeners with a wide variety of musical styles.

    Songs available on CD Baby:
High and Low /  Leaving It all up to you /  Startin' Tomorrow /  Before Time Slipped Away /  Waiting for a Sunny Day /

: I would imagine in time we will hear more from these 4 as 2013 unfolds. This latest EP has not only the perfect title, but has essentially carved a marketable niche for these 5 guys - thus far setting themselves up for even more marketable success down the road locally and beyond. I would not be surprised to hear these guys either headlining the Warp Tour, featured either in a major Motion Picture, on a popular TV Show, or even on Prime Time Radio this Summer. But for now I can honestly say this is one English band artist that clearly gives you a musical snapshot that is highly original, a bit dangerous and dare I say brilliantly stylish in scope.
