the Devil’s Interval.
Even though Irene Jackson has been performing and writing since the early 70's, she didn't release her first independent recording Foolishly Fantasizing until 1993. After so many years, why did the first recording take so long?
But songwriting is only a part of her musical palette...Irene has also written theme music for a number of television series’, including the internationally syndicated home repair show Home Check With Shell Busey, the SpeedVision series Canadian Biker Television, the WTN series At Home With Herbs, a local arts and entertainment magazine show, Go! and the canine series Doggin' It. From 2002 until 2007 CHEK Television in Victoria BC carried her music as the theme and general music package. She been well established as a guitar teacher on Vancouver Island since 1989, as well as maintaining a webpage for songwriters on the internet. As her songwriting continues to flourish, Irene continues to produce her own recordings through her company, Moonstone Productions.
Ian Pellow, writer, musician, producer and
multi-instrumentalist, has concocted an inspiring mixture of beautiful bass
melodies, velvet keyboard sounds, passionate yearning rock, seasoned with a
hint of exotic charm and a fragrance of Frank Zappa, Terry Kath and
Jaco Pastorius. Some call it mellow, others call it challenging. It is
smooth Jazz Fusion... or anything you want to call it !
Attila Kovacs- Greetings from Denmark. As an independent artist,
Attila has released 3 albums so far in the pop-rock and easy-listening
I was studying classical flute and piano at Budapest Conservatory in Hungary for five years. After graduating, instead of classical music I picked up the guitar and played pop& rock (among others The Beatles, Elvis) music in various bands.
Later I passed an exam in a school of Entertaining on Piano. Again as a keyboard-player I was on the road for 10 years in western-Europe with different groups (playing Rock, Country, R&B, Pop, Entertaining music).
I settled down in Denmark, where I had a daughter, Marie I make living by entertaining at private parties, and in the sparetime by composing music.ing at private parties, and in the sparetime by composing music.
Angels of Venice
Emerging from the heart and soul of harpist/composer/producer Carol Tatum, the Angels of Venice's sound is ethereal, joyous, firey, lush, mysterious and elegant. Driven by harp, flute, cello, hammered dulcimer and exotic percussion accompanied by world instruments such as udu, doumbek, oud, hurdy gurdy, bouzouki and recorder this group combines middle eastern, medieval and neoclassical styles to create an aural landscape that is at once compelling and provocative.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, founding member Carol Tatum has been playing stringed instruments since the age of seven. With her extensive recording and live performance experience Carol's contribution to "Angels of Venice" is as primary songwriter, arranger and producer. She is an ASCAP member and published writer having co-written songs for the rock group Kingdom Come on both PolyGram and Warner Bros.
I had just wrapped up touring in support of “B” , and I was getting anxious to get something new into circulation - C was the next letter to tackle. I started “Circle” at the end of 2006 in a tiny studio apartment in Los Angeles. With a guitar on my lap and lryic scraps laying around, I began recording onto a laptop - working through re-writes and demos. Over the next 2 years I moved back to Chicago... and then back to Los Angeles (again).
This CD was recorded between those two cities and five residences. Way too long and way too boring to go into - let's just say - Circle was sculpted out of moving boxes, cans of tuna, Hwy 80, Middle America, and a longing for solid footing.
"Drawing a fine line between sex and granola." Completely left
of center, comically sarcastic, and a little fiery,
Ripley Caine breaks the mold of the stereotypical singer/songwriter.
this woman combines the rawness of alternative with the softness of
folk and the edginess of rock and roll. since the release of her
debut cd, "thrift store sweater," Ripley Caine has been getting
consistent airplay on many radio stations across the country.
Eric & Rebecca Thiegs
Minneapolis native, Eric Thiegs, blends a unique flavor of urban folk
with the sultry soul attitude, Rebecca, as an acoustic duo named Bug Candy.
Coming off an hour long appearance on New Jersey public radio and a rash of
CD-signing shows in 2002 in the mid-Atlantic region (Greenwich Village, NYC;
Princeton, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Wilmington, DE), the couple have surpassed
the era in their mid-20’s of the rock & roll band days of the Minneapolis
nightclub scene and stepped into the realm of national, professional
acoustic performers. From self-composed urban folk ballads to indie lo-fi anthems
like their MP3.com #1 single, "Pocket of Love" , the couple’s musical
line-up oozes over the listener in honest bar chords and tight vocals. Now
living and playing on the east coast, the couple focuses their musical
energy nationally as they travel the U.S. playing acoustic concerts. So
bring your sense of humor and your appetite for story-telling as their
unpredictable style, raw acoustic guitar, and stark lyrics will capture both
your smile and imagination.
Scottish and Irish folk songs combined with the Lord of the Rings music and a wee bit o'Celtic fun. The Brobdingnagian Bards (pronounced brob-din-nahg-EE-en) are The Original Celtic Renaissance music duo from Austin, Texas. Their unique brand of folk music on the autoharp, recorder, and mandolin has made them one of the most-popular Celtic music groups online where they give away thousands of free Celtic MP3 downloads daily.
The Brobdingnagian Bards are no more. We have been amazed and gratified by the outpouring of love and support from their fans over the last 10 years. Marc Gunn and Andrew McKee have had the good fortune to meet interesting people, see new places, and, most importantly, have fun every step of the way throughout their journey together. After much soul searching, the time has come for them to follow their own artistic pursuits for a while.
