JULIANNA ZOBRIST: The Tree
Top notch electro-pop production, stellar singing, and heavenly-minded lyrics are
the focal points on this sparkling mini album. Not just raise-your-hands feel-goodery,
"Little Gold Plaque" actually takes to task showboats in the sanctuary, while
tickling the ears with skronking synth bass and an insistent drum loop.
The Tree" is an album highlight, with its strings and slightly
melancholy-yet-hopeful melody. With plenty of aural treats and lyrical meat, there's a lot
to love on this album.

THE BENEATH: City of Light
The Beneath is a six piece metal band hailing from Cincinnati, OH. They have
been a staple in the local scene in Cincinnati for the past two years playing
with acts such as Protest the Hero, Haste the Day, Between the Buried and Me,
Project 86, etc. They released their first record, 'So Came the Decimation' in
August of 2007 and now proudly release 'City of Light' (April 2009), which is
already receiving rave reviews from the critics. The Beneath blend heavy
guitar-driven melodic metal with anthemic harmonized vocals from their two singers.
